Bamford Tree Management was established in 1996 and the aim was to meet a demand for high quality arboriculture and forestry service.

Rupert Bamford BA (Hons) MSc Managing Director

Rupert is the co-owner and day to day manager of the business and enjoys meeting varied clients to discuss their requirements and offers help and advice during site visits all year round. Prior to forming the company Rupert had been involved in ecological consultancy and surveying, mainly in Scotland.

Rupert is a Certified Arborist under The International Society of Arboriculture’s scheme, covering all aspects of professional tree care and is committed to continuing professional development. He recently studied at Guildford College towards the Arb Association’s Technicians Certificate in Arboriculture.

Rupert is pleased to run the business as an approved trader under East Sussex Councils Buy with Confidence Scheme and welcomes feedback from customers!  He also enjoys helping work experience arb and forestry students from Plumpton College who come to learn about the realities of a busy and successful business.

Rupert is a City and Guilds NPTC Approved Assessor and also teaches Chainsaw Skills.

MATT MOSS

Matt is an old member of the team and called upon at times for his technical expertise. He has a mixture of practical and academic experience gained at university and organisations such as Kew and Scottish Natural Heritage. Matt enjoys all aspects of tree related work from climbing and felling to surveying and management planning. Matt is also qualified in design and helps with the website management.

Matt is a Lecturer at Plumpton College. He teaches Forestry and Arboriculture and specialises in tree pests and disease, woodland management and technical tree climbing.

Matt is passionate about the outdoors and has spent much of his life exploring the national parks of Britian, Europe and America. He is a confident outdoorsman and qualified deer stalker, with a love of the natural world.
